I'm back!

Tue Jun 30, 2009, 7:31 AM
... setting the gears in motion!

Recently, I got the chance to participate in an art festival, and it really got the art bug biting again, more feverishly than ever. If you're in the Washington, D.C. area, check out the Artomatic! This is the last week, until July 5th, to see and hear art, film, and music from artists from DC metro and abroad.

So there's your chance to see some of the pieces in my gallery in person. I'm on the 8th floor. ;)

Not really a New Year's Resolution

Mon Jan 16, 2006, 6:19 PM
Man, this little corner of DA sure is dusty! *brushes off cobwebs*

Hi guys! Sorry for not keeping in touch, or not even submitting anything in, what's it been, a year? I've been very bad. I haven't done any art in the past year! Not happy about that at all. It's the main thing I hate about working: takes too much time, and so tiresome. And some other excuses that's just sad to think about.

But, I'm looking into getting my own place this spring, which means I'll have the space and peace I need to accomplish something. If I don't, will someone kick my ass?

Um... a belated "Happy New Year!" to everyone! Better year for better arts! :)

*sheepishly dropping in*

man, have i been a badass for not checking in more often. i wonder if everyone on my watch list has given up on this little corner of da.

[ a lone tumbleweed tumbles across the screen...]

...yeah.

the working world is one mean bitch, holding my time on ransom. i haven't really drawn anything since... oh my goodness - it must have been november. i got a pretty nasty lecture from a certain someone for not even caring enough to attempt to make art. which made me cry because it wasn't true. i'd like to, but in addition to time constraints, inspiration just hasn't come around. it must have been hibernating all this time. although last week, i did muster enough creativity to make a shamrock card with interlocking clover-leaf flaps (an unconventional card) for that same someone who berated me. i'm too forgiving.

to make matters worse, my digicam broke. something must have broken with the shutter mechanism, because i can't take pictures, although the rest of the camera is okie-dokie. that'll cost me a pretty penny to fix.

speaking of cameras, in effort to make up for my absence: a little gift to anyone who bothers to visit this tenaciously-surviving site: check out www.ofoto.com
it's actually kodak's photo-hosting site, where you can upload pictures from your computer and order prints online instead of taking your film or memory card all the way to wherever it is you develop your photos. if you sign up before march 31, you get 10 - ten! - 4x6 inch photos for free! that's a savings of - hold your breath - $2.50. lol. you do have to pay shipping and a little tax, but if you order exactly 10 photos, the whole thing should cost less than $2.00 total, and you don't even have to get your butt out of the house, or even away from the computer for that matter.
so take advantage of this knowledge and get some of those years-old image files processed already (as i did.)

lots of  to whoever still visits here. i hope to one day wow you again with some art... thanks for being so patient!

ramblingramblingrambling: man i'm tired. i finally got a job after these months of being a bum at home. i got an offer just this past monday, then they asked me to start working yesterday, and by this morning i was already tired of waking up early. blah. oh yeah, my job is a conservation program assistant, which means i'm gonna help make the world a better place for animals. i hope i will, anyways. everyone makes fun of me for killing my pets. i'm not sadistic, i tell ya! i just seem to jinx everything i like. for example: soon after i got hooked on tales from the crypt, it's taken off-air. i start listening to stabbing westward, only to find they've disbanded. i hate watching sports, but i actually liked hockey, and look! they're on strike! one thing good that did come about: when the red sox were playing against the yankees, i watched several games just for the heck of it. ken explained the bambi curse or whatever it is, and i commented that my bad luck just might reverse the curse... i shoulda bet money.
notice how poker is everywhere now? there's "poker kits" being sold everywhere, with a book and board and chips for each variation. don't people realize all they need are any plain ol' deck of cards and some rules you can get in one book or online? and quarters. lots of quarters. suckers.
